« Back to Glossary Index

Denudation is the geological process of wearing away, lowering, and shaping the Earth’s surface through weathering, erosion, transportation, and mass movement. Driven by agents like water, ice, wind, and waves, it reduces the elevation and relief of landscapes by removing solid particles and solutes.

In other words, the processes of Weathering and Erosion are collectively known as Denudation.
