Crystallisation is a physical separation technique used to obtain pure solid crystals from an impure solution by heating it to a saturated state and allowing it to cool. As the hot saturated solution cools, solubility decreases, forcing the solute to form highly ordered, pure solid crystals, which are then filtered and dried.
